This region of Portugal is studded with an ample number of very fine courses, with some great new ones having opened in recent years.
The big bonus for the holiday golfer, however, is that the courses here are much quieter than those of the Algarve and the Costa del Sol, and just as important, the golf in this area offers great value for money. The climate is slightly cooler than the Algarve during the winter months, but in autumn, spring and early-summer the weather is great for golfing and this area really comes into its own.
