St Andrews & Fife
We all know the main attraction of St Andrew’s, given its nickname ‘The Home of Golf’.
However, it can be so easy to forget that there is more to St Andrews and surrounding area than magnificent golf courses. History and architecture feature immensely in this auld toon, along with a huge choice other activities.
There are some fantastic family days out, sports activities and facilities, spectacular walks, beautiful gardens, great shopping, brilliant pubs and restaurants. Indeed, there is definitely something for everyone. Here are just a few examples
Beaches
With the magnificent long clean beach, known locally as "The West Sands" which has the blue flag award. This stretch of golden sand was also used in the famous film "Chariots of fire"
Kinburn Park
With it's beautifully kept gardens, there is also a host of activities available including Tennis, bowling and putting, and literally a few minutes walk from the centre of town.
Shopping
Cobbled streets within the town centre, excellent range of quaint and unusual individual shops, a great choice of food in the many local pubs and restaurants. This town is the easiest walk about town, you really do just need to park your car up and forget about it being here. Everything is within such easy reach.
Aquarium
A great chance for families to see and touch some amazing fish, shellfish and of course the outside enclosure of the seals is a must for all the kids to see, especially if you are lucky enough to see them being fed, what a treat!
Whatever you do, you will always go home from St Andrews with a beautiful lasting memory.

Tee Times on the Old Course?’ -
Our two, three or four night luxury programmes in St Andrews, all include a Pre-Booked Tee Time on the Old Course. Please note, in order to play the Old Course each player must hold a valid handicap certificate showing a maximum handicap of 24 for men and 36 for ladies. If you decide not to book one of our luxury programmes, we can tailor-make any other package in St Andrews or totherwise for you. Unfortunately, this would mean in order to play the Old Course you would have to enter the local daily ballot, one day prior to your chosen day of play - be prepared as there is never any guarantee of sucess using this method!
Please Note: The Old Course is closed all day on Sundays and only the local ballot can be used to obtain Saturday tee times - no guarantee of success! The East Neuk of Fife is situated on the east coast of Scotland just twenty minutes drive from St Andrews.
