Voted Golf Course of the Year in 2007, by members of Golf Tourism Scotland and frequently featured in Visit Scotland’s Top 40 Great Scottish Links courses. In July 2006 Murcar Links hosted the European Challenge Tour's inaugural Scottish Challenge.

Designed by Archie Simpson with later refinements made by course designer James Braid. It has recently undergone alterations and improvements that are sympathetic to what Simpson and Braid set out to achieve; under the watchful eye of Graeme J Webster's Team Niblick Ltd. Murcar is without doubt a great Links.
