Kittocks - St Andrews
Par 72, 7400 yards
This magnificent American style course designed by Bruce Devlin changed its name on the 1st of October 2008 from The Devlin to Kittocks.
The new name change reflects not only the millions of pounds worth of changes being made to both the Kittocks and The Torrance but reflects the essential strand of Fairmont properties worldwide, that they all have an authentically local feel.
Kittocks name is taken from an area of land on the course that is inhabited by a family of deer. The protected area comes into view on several holes and provides abundant wildlife to be seen during a round on Kittocks, including pheasants, rabbits, hares, deer, grouse and badgers.
The Kittocks will have two holes from the original Torrance layout, with the re-positioning of several tees and three new greens, plus the addition of state of the art drainage systems will be even better than before and worthy of the accolade including being named 18th best Golf Resort in the World by Conde Naste Traveler.
This must play Championship course begins by innocently easing the golfer into a false sense of security offering wide, well manicured fairways that wind around water features and risky bunkers, teasing the golfer with a mix of Par 4's and 5's. Location
10 minutes drive outside St Andrews.
