Aberdeen

Famous for its granite buildings (hence the nickname ‘Granite City’) and home to the 6th oldest registered golf club in the world, Royal Aberdeen established in 1780.

Aberdeen is in the heart of Scotland’s Castle and Whisky country, offering its visitors excellent shopping as well as an extensive selection of bars, nightclubs and restaurants. September sees the Braemar Gathering, drawing thousands to the spectacle of pipe bands and "heavy" sporting events.

Pitfodels is a small village west of Aberdeen, boasting the five star Marcliffe Hotel & Spa and Royal Aberdeen Golf Club.

Cruden Bay is a coastal village located approximately 23 miles north of Aberdeen city centre and is home to the first class Cruden Bay golf course, rated in the worlds Top 100.

However the focal point for many visitors lies just to the north in the impressive ruin which was Slains Castle, the acknowledged inspiration for Brams Stoker’s ‘Dracula’.
