Just as The O’Meara course reflects personality, so too do the 18 holes of the Montgomerie. You cannot call it a Links course, but it has all the characteristics of a Links.

Punishing rough, firm fairways with fast greens and the intelligently placed bunkers that demand strategic shotmaking.

The Montgomerie course at Carton House was voted ‘Best New Design in 2004’ by Golf World, ranked 10th in Ireland by Golf Digest in January 2005 and was home to the Nissan Irish Open in 2005 and 2006.
