Resort Description
A fabulous 5-star golf resort situated on beautiful Doughmore Bay, nestled in the parish of Doonbeg on the west coast of County Clare. The Lodge at Doonbeg has all the elements of a perfect golfing holiday with well-appointed accommodation in a picturesque location, impeccable service, fantastic facilities and a first class Championship Links course.
The finest talents in the world came together to create an exquisite retreat with Greg Norman’s Links masterpiece, renowned chef Tom Colicchio’s distinctive style of dining, and leading designer Clodagh’s innovative spa all contributing to a truly remarkable and ultimate experience.
Whether you are seeking a romantic getaway or hitting the links with your golfing buddies you will feel a million miles away from the rest of the world. You can unwind and enjoy all the Lodge has to offer including the unique member-owned spacious suites, available on a limited basis.
On most summer nights tourists can be found strolling Doonbeg’s Main Street, a thoroughfare narrower than most of the fairways on the Greg Norman course located just beyond this southwest Irish village. Tubridy’s, Comerford’s and Morrisey’s establishments offer what most visitors expect of an Irish pub crawl: an evening of properly poured pints, good craic and perhaps even a sing song before returning to Doonbeg.
Accommodation
The Links Cottages are the most spacious accommodation available and are ideal for groups. Set apart from the Lodge building, these cottages can easily accommodate up to 8 persons with a convenient shuttle service to and from the Clubhouse.
All Links Cottages offer 4 ensuite bedrooms, spacious living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, daily maid service, sound proofed walls, wifi internet access, in-room entertainment, direct-dial telephone, satellite television and private car parking as well as spectacular views of the 17th fairway.
Enjoy gathering for a cocktail in the living room or a private dinner prepared in your cottage, or indulge in a spa treatment brought to your door.
Dining
Doonbeg offers several dining options ranging from the
formal ‘The Long Room’ to the more informal ‘Darby’s’.
White Horses Spa
The natural environment of the County Clare coastline provides unending inspiration for the treatments that will relax and renew you at Doonbeg’s ‘White Horses Spa’.
As you step inside expect your world-weary senses to spring to life as scents and soothing sounds surround you. As you return again and again your body can be enhanced by nature’s healing touch in a place inspired by 5,000 years of mystery and history.
Facilities
Luxurious suites and cottages, exquisite dining, oceanside clubhouse with bar and private dining room, pro-shop, driving range, practice putting green, buggies, caddies (advanced booking advised) and private secure car parking. Doonbeg Golf Course - Par 72, 6911 yds
Nestled in the parish of Doonbeg is this outstanding challenging Links course with spectacular panoramic views. This was the work of the creative genius Greg Norman and the experienced team of Kiawah Develpment Partners. Norman's two dramatic British Open victories and lifelong love of Links golf made him the architect of choice for this project.
Things to See and Do
County Clare offers endless touristic opportunities, whether visiting some of the historic sites or taking in the views from the Cliffs of Moher.
A great way to spend your day off from playing golf is by visiting the quaint villages that dot the countryside. Stroll the streets, stop in at a pub, and take in the local flavor. Stop for a bite to eat, being sure to order one of Ireland’s specialties such as Irish stew, salmon, or fresh oysters with a pint of Guinness.
