Hotel Description

Castleknock occupies the lands of Somerton House which was apportioned from the Luttrellstown Estate and belonged to Henry Lawless Lutrell. It was purchased by the Brooke family in the early 1800’s then sold to a steward of the Irish Turf Club, T.K Laidlaw in 1911. In the early 1980’s, Phil Monahan of Monarch Properties bought Somerton House and the adjoining land and began construction in 2003 of what is now a first class golf resort.

A superb Parkland course set in a truly serene oasis, thoughtfully designed to reflect the grandeur of its location. Large undulating and modern green complexes allow for numerous and varied pin positions.
The different tee positions make this course suitable for amateurs and professionals alike. However, you shouldn’t relax too much as there are lakes coming into play on seven holes.
