Vilamoura is a big favourite for golfing break, because of the close proximity of 5 great courses and the excellent choice of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the great value hotels.
The Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago estates offer a choice of top class hotels, villas and apartments set in a beautiful area and surrounded by six of the finest golf courses in the Algarve.
A great new golfing area is now emerging just to the east of Faro in the resort of Tavira . There are now 4 first class courses to choose from when staying in this area: Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim and Benamor. It is also possible to cross over into Spain and play the excellent Islantilla course, as well as the two great new Costa Esuri golf courses - all well within easy driving distance.
Albufeira is another firm favourite with British golfers. This popular resort has an abundance of nightlife and is within 15 minutes drive time from the Vilamoura courses.The courses of Salgados, Pinta and Gramacho are also within easy reach
A little further west we come to the smaller resort of Carvoeiro and the Almansor Hotel set in a magnificent clifftop location. Alvor is another unspoiled resort with 3 great hotels in a wonderful setting. Close by is the Meridien Penina Hotel and its famous championship course.
The historic town of Lagos and the delightful village of Praia da Luz are the most westerly resorts we feature. Both are ideally placed for playing the popular Palmares course, Parque da Floresta and the new Boavista course.
